We recommend having your eyes tested every two years, or more frequently if advised by your optometrist. Regular check-ups are important to monitor changes in vision and detect any eye health issues early.

There are many signs and symptoms that could indicate you need glasses, and some are more obvious than others!

Signs you might need glasses can include blurry vision, difficulty reading small print, frequent headaches, eye strain, learning difficulties or trouble focusing. If you're experiencing any of these, it’s a good idea to book an eye test.

Getting an eye test is a simple and important way to look after your health. An eye test can detect vision changes such as blurriness or difficulty seeing, and can also reveal signs of health issues such as glaucoma or macular degeneration. Some serious eye conditions can develop without any noticeable symptoms. Regular eye tests can help you identify health issues early and ensure your vision can keep pace with your lifestyle.
At Pezzimenti Nixon, our eye tests involve a pre-screening with our dispensing team and a 30-minute appointment with our optometrists. The pre-screening tests include taking images of your eyes to help diagnose health conditions. Our optometrists will use these images to look for and monitor any changes in your eye health. Your appointment with our optometrists will involve a comprehensive eye exam. We will test how well you see, how well your eyes work together and how well your brain is able to process that information. There will also be further tests to identify any eye health disorders.
No. You can book an appointment directly with us. If you have been recommended to see us by another medical professional, it is helpful for us to have a letter or report from them to understand your history.
We recommend an initial test at 12 months to identify any significant visual problems, and another test when your child is about to start school. Regular testing (every two years) is also recommended to ensure that any changes are picked up early.
Yes, we can. Our optometrists can help identify if your child’s challenges are caused by a vision or visual processing problem. If we find that they are, our team will discuss with you the best approach to improving your child's visual skills.
Private health insurance can be used to help cover the cost of eyewear such as lenses, frames, prescription sunglasses and contact lenses. Some funds also offer rebates for vision training. Medicare rebates will be processed for your appointment with our optometrists. The amount rebated will depend on the tests conducted and the time since you last had an eye test.
Yes, we can help repair your glasses! Minor fixes such as adjustments or lost screws can be addressed on the spot by our team. Larger repairs may require new parts to be ordered, or for us to work with an external supplier to repair your glasses.
Generally 2-3 weeks. However, this will differ depending on where the lenses are coming from, and if the frames you selected are in stock. Our team will give you an estimate of how long your glasses will take when you order them. You’ll receive a text message notification when your glasses are ready to be collected. We are often able to make up glasses more urgently if required. Call our team to discuss your needs.
