Contact Lenses for Myopia control

In the past optometrists have accepted that Myopia will get worse in some children over the teenage and puberty years and even in the 20s. Not so any more.

There is a growing body of evidence that says certain contact lenses can be used to slow down or stop myopia getting worse.

Orthokeratology is used to control Myopia and its use in limiting how much worse Myopia progresses is now well documented.

MultiFocal Contact lenses are also becoming more popular with us and we have had some success also using these lenses for myopia progression. This suits those worried or are not comfortable about having to sleep with contact lenses overnight.

In any case we will always discuss the various options about myopia correction that are available to you.
